Visiting for the first time?

Science Oxford Live is Oxfordshire’s cultural centre for science and enterprise. Divided into three different zones, the centre offers a varied experience of science for visitors of all ages.

Discovery Zone

The discovery zone is an investigative area for families with children up to 12 years old and primary schools to experience and discover science through play.

Science Lounge

The science lounge is a freely accessible space where visitors can chill out over a cup of coffee and have a look at our permanent Science in Oxford exhibition.

Most of the time the discovery zone and science lounge are full of fantastic interactive science exhibits, but at special times of year they host other types of science exhibition.
Both science lounge and discovery zone are normally open Saturdays, 10am to 5pm, and weekdays during Oxfordshire state school holidays.
Allow a couple of hours for a visit to the discovery zone and up to 3 hours if you combine it with one of our events.

Exchange Zone

The exchange zone holds events of many types and for many audiences - public talks and discussions in the evening, shows and workshops for schools during term time and for families during the school holidays and even business networking events or training sessions.
