Dr Samuel Turvey is a Research Fellow at the Institute of Zoology, Zoological Society of London. His main interest is the history and prehistory of human-caused extinctions, and is involved with ZSL’s new Edge of Existence programme, which aims to support conservation projects for evolutionary distinct and globally endangered species. He is author of ‘Witness to Extinction: How We Failed to Save the Yangtze River Dolphin’.
