Dr David Acheson is a Fellow in Mathematics at Jesus College, Oxford. David is well known for his innovative and inspiring teaching methods, and in 2004 was awarded a National Teaching Fellowship in recognition of his ‘outstanding contribution to learning and teaching’. David retired from Oxford in 2008 in order to concentrate on writing mathematics books and giving public lectures. He wrote ‘1089 and All That’ to bring the joy of mathematics to the general public.
